Product care & materials

It is completely natural for sterling silver to oxidize over time when it’s exposed to air. Use a lint-free, 100% cotton cloth to give the piece a gentle wipe and it will shine again!

Though the quality of our sterling silver and gold-filled/vermeil items are of high quality we understand you are tempted to wear your LisaMaret all the time. We recommend to not wear your jewellery during showering, bathing/washing hands, swimming, cleaning, exercising, applying perfumes. Keep the items in a dry and safe space in between wearing.

Following these practices help to guarantee a longer life span of your jewellery.

Sterling silver (925)

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. Most jewellers use sterling silver, it will maintain its value through the quality of the piece which will last a lifetime.

Gold filled” (or “rolled gold”) comprises a solid layer of gold (14k) permanently bonded to a base metal, such as brass. The minimum layer of gold must equal at least 1/20th the weight of the total item. It is very hard wearing and under normal wear the gold will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate, and is commonly used as a more economical alternative to pure gold

Vermeil jewellery is made by first creating the base of the item out of silver, then plating it with a thin layer of gold.

Gold vermeil items in the shop are sterling silver, plated with 24K gold.
